Shataunia Pashun Lumpkins-Ruiz, 56. A beloved mother, wife and grandmother, departed this life on December 9, 2021. Taunia was born February 12, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois to George Lumpkins and Doloris Lacey.

She was a faithful member of Power In Praise Crusade Ministries under the leadership of the Late Great Rico A. Butler and Shepherdess Ivy Butler where she served as a greeter and special assistant for many years. She was an early graduate of Washington High School in South Bend, Indiana. She loved the time she spent with her grandchildren, shopping and praising the Lord. She also loved the close relationship she had with her three loving daughters.

On February 8, 2020, she was united in holy matrimony to Luiz Ruiz whom she loved. She was a mother to Brandee (Jay) Garza, Khendra (Anthwann) Ford and Danyel Fuller, Alvaro, and Juan Ruiz all of South Bend. Eight grandchildren: Rai’Nijah, Dai’Dreona, E’Laijah, Dai’Anha, Jaylen, Jordan, Amani, and Amari. As well as her goddaughter Roylin Simpson.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory husband Luiz Ruiz, her Father Terry Lacey; two brothers: Darnell “Louie” (Crystal) Foster of South Bend, Indiana, and Lamont Lumpkins of San Leandro California. Two sisters: Nakia Lacey of South Bend, Indiana, and Lakisha Lumpkins of Chicago, Illinois. Two special cousins: Denita Stanford of Avon Indiana and Deaunna Stanford of Cape Girardeau Missouri.
She will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Doloris Lacey; maternal grandparents: Jesse and Evelyn Willis; her father, George Lumpkins; grandson, Dai’Dreon Barbour; and special friend, Carol Johnson.
