Brian T. Watkins
July 11, 1962 ~ April 23, 2026 (age 63)
Brian T. Watkins, 63, a lifelong South Bend resident passed away on Thursday April 23, 2026, at his home.
Brian was born in South Bend on July 11, 1962, to the late Bruce and Esther (Zimmerman) Watkins.
He graduated from Washington High School in 1981.
Brian was a proud United States Marine.
A skilled carpenter, he spent 30 years in construction and was a master at his trade.
Brian was a proud father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family at holidays, birthday parties, the fair, the beach, Potato Creek, bonfires and cookouts.
Brian loved being on and in the water and could “swim like a fish” as he would say. He also enjoyed bowling, golf and family vacations.
Brian will be sorely missed by his children; Kasey Watkins, Kelley Watkins, and Katie (Gaige Mortakis) Watkins as well as his grandchildren; Braxton and Quinn Mortakis. His Ex wife Lisa Watkins and brother Michael (Claudia) Watkins also survives.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Patricia Watkins and Kevin Watkins.
A memorial service for Brian will be held at 11am on Tuesday May 19, 2026, at Apostolic Temple Church, 2221 S. Ironwood Dr. South Bend. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10am until the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to assist in final expenses may be sent to the family via Palmer Funeral homes-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN 46614.
