Eric Avery Parker, 59, of South Bend, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 12, 2022.

Eric (Rickey) was born on March 30,1963 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Cleotha Parker and Betty J. Parker. He was a graduate of Washington High School, where he played basketball. His proudest accomplishment was that he was a veteran of the US Army where he served 23 years as a Master Mechanic and various other assignments. He also worked for Bendix Corporation as a testing driver. He enjoyed working on cars and was also active with the Army Reservist Center in South Bend.

Eric is survived by his mother, Betty J. Parker of South Bend; daughter, Danielle S. Robey (Treston) of Indianapolis; two sons, Jason R. Parker (Danyelle) of Indianapolis and Justin M. Nowak of South Bend; and two granddaughters, Averie R. Parker and Kamil Robey. Eric is also survived by his sister, Rosalind S. Parker of South Bend, and his adopted brothers, Dana Price of (Irving, TX), Carl Buchanon, Ronnie Webb and Maurice Burks of South Bend. There were many others that grew up with Eric that he called brother.

Eric is also survived by a host of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 12pm with Reverend Ray E. Owens officiating at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1862 North Olive Street, South Bend, Indiana, 46628. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 11:30am until 12:00pm. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the US Army.

Palmer Funeral Homes-West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana 46628 is assisting the family with arrangements.

Repast will be immediately following service at Olivet AME Church, 719 Notre Dame Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617
