Emery S. Fischer Jr.

Emery S. "Jim" Fischer Jr., 28, 425 S. Celia Ave., died late Saturday, Oct 6, 1990, after a train accident in Muncie. Mr. Fischer was co-owner of Lance Graphics, Muncie. According to Muncie police, Mr. Fischer was with a large group of people waiting for a stopped train to move when he tried crawling under the train. He was a 1981 graduate of Washington High School, South Bend, and graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor of fine arts degree in 1987. He had been a Muncie resident for seven years.

Survivors include his parents, Dolores and Emery "Jim" Fischer, Sr., South Bend; his grandmother, Helen Fischer, South Bend; and two brothers, Mark and Gary, both of South Bend.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, South Bend. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Joseph Funeral Home, South Bend. The rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in South Bend.
