Jacquelyn Denise Williams

March 13, 1962 ~ July 22, 2024 (age 62)

Jacquelyn Denise Williams, beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22, 2024, at the age of 62. She was born to the union of the late Sterlan Williams and the late Delores Williams.  Her biological father was the late L.C. Clay. 

Jacquelyn affectionately known as “Jackie” accepted Christ at an early age. She was a long time member of the New Life Fellowship Ministry. She served as minister of music and Church secretary for several years. She received her formal education in the South Bend Community School Corporation and graduated from Washington High School in 1980. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bethel College in Mishawaka and continued her education and earned a Master’s Degree in Social Services from Andrews University.  

Jacquelyn was an entrepreneur and established her own cleaning company. She also assisted her brother, Shawn, with establishing Golden Enterprises. Jacquelyn’s most recent employment was with Willis Tower Watson selling medical insurance. 

From her union of marriage to Darryl Simpson came two beautiful children, Mikayla Simpson and Sgt. Jeremy Simpson. To hear their voices over the phone and to see their smiles gave her strength each day. 

Jacquelyn was known for her kindness, work ethic, compassion, and unwavering love for her family, especially her children. She touched the lives of many with her smile, fiery and at the same time gentle spirit, and nurturing nature. She will be deeply missed and remembered for her guiding light, wisdom, and the love she shared with those who knew her.  She enjoyed singing, cooking, and going to concerts. Her favorite football team was the Chicago Bears. 

Jacquelyn leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children, Mikayla and Jeremy; her siblings, Terry (David) Poindexter, Sterling Williams, Constance Williams, Shawn (Rakea) Sanders, Todd Anthony Clay, and Regina Clay;  favorite cousins: Apostle Charles E. Harris and Prophetess Betty Harris; special best friend, Darcel Tyson; special friends, Virginia Garner and Mitzi Garner; a special God brother, Reginald Carr along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Along with her parents, Jacquelyn was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Johnnie Bell Golden, Addlee Mitchell, Alonzo Poindexter, Sr., Katherine Poindexter, Easter Clay, and Matthew Clay;  a cousin/brother, Glen Brown; and her favorite aunt, Bertha Thomas
