In Memory
Alan Mark Ellis
November 1, 1961 ~ June 2, 2024 (age 62)
Alan Mark Ellis went to be in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and finally found the love he had longed for on June 2, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with illness. Kind, gentle, generous, and soft spoken are words to describe his quiet and caring spirit.
Alan graduated from Washington High School and the University of Chicago. He enjoyed watching sports, tending his beautiful flowers, and his dogs, especially his sweet Sep. He loved his friends as his own brothers and sisters, Peter (Kathy) Wang, Natalie (Ron), Olivia, and Lexi Mast, and Bruce (Dawn) Fuqua who took in his dog Sep, when Alan could no longer care for her, and generously shared Sep with Alan, and with so much kindness and love, helped care for Alan.
Alan dearly loved his family, his mother who survives, Violet Jelinski, and his nieces and nephews, Jonny (Lisa) Young, Robin Young, Luke (Jamie) Willis, and Joshua Willis who all survive. He also adored his surviving great nieces and nephews, Nate, Brice, Izzy, Jonny Jr., Lauren, and Jacob. He was blessed to have very kind and loving stepfathers, who both preceded him in death, Clyde Stacy and most of all Barney Jelinski who loved him as his own son. Other survivors include his new sisters and brother, Maggie (Jim) Bair, Nancy (Tom) Kyser, and Tommy (Sonya) Jelinski who he loved. Alan also had an unbreakable bond with his surviving sister, Mona (Ron) Willis.
Alan was grateful to all the wonderful doctors and nurses who cared for him. The family would like to thank the staff at Healthwin who showed exceptional kindness to Alan in his last days, and to Stephanie from Heartland Hospice.
Per Alan’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
