Norbert "Zip" Rzepnicki

Norbert "Zip" Rzepnicki, 96 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Story Point Assisted Living in Granger.

Norbert was born on July 14, 1930 in South Bend to the late Adalbert and Stephanie (Grochowski) Rzepnicki. On July 14, 1962, Norbert married the love of his life, Josephine V. Paprocki. She preceded in him in death on May 30, 2026. Norbert was also preceded in death by his sister, Adeline Kazmierski, and brothers, John, Casimir, Edmund, Bernard, and Stephen Rzepnicki.

Left to cherish the memories of Norbert are his children, Ann Marie (Daniel) Elek, Pamela (Anthony) Moore, Christine (Chris) Lemert, and Robert (Nina) Rzepnicki; grandchildren, Brandon (Cassandra) Elek, Austin Elek, Collin Elek, Shelby Moore, Dylan (Allison) Lemert, Dalton (Caroline) Lemert, Gavin Rzepnicki and Mallory Rzepnicki; great-grandchildren, Bruce Elek, Grace Elek, and Owen Lemert.

Norbert graduated from Washington High School, where he played on the basketball, baseball, and football teams. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Norbert was a very dedicated, hard worker. He had various jobs throughout his life beginning at the age of 10, when he caddied at the South Bend Country Club. He also trimmed trees, worked on the production line at Studebaker, managed the Polish National Alliance Club, and then retired from Mossberg & Company after 35 years as a prepress technician. Norbert enjoyed being active. Some of his activities included bowling, golfing, jogging, bike riding, and he especially loved working around the house, where he felt there was no job he couldn't tackle.

Private services will be held. Norbert will be interred next to his loving wife of 63 years, Josephine, in St. Joseph Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at sjfh.net.
