Theresa (Sikorski) Futa, 98 years old, passed away in Mishawaka, IN on Friday September 18, 2026.
Theresa was born on August 24, 1928 in South Bend, IN to the late Stanley Sikorski and Mary Ann (Rybicki) Sikorski. On May 28,1949, Theresa married the love of her life, Richard Futa, who preceded her in death. Theresa is also preceded in death by siblings; Aloyisius Sikorski, Joseph, Sikorski, Dorothy Miller, Regina Strasser.
Theresa is survived by Children: Susan (Timothy) Berger, Nancy (Delos “Buster”) Coen; grandchildren; Anthony (James Feece) Berger, Natalie (Robert) Kranenburg, Stephanie (William) Bukowski, great grandchildren; Chase Coen, Coen Coen, Connor Kranenburg, Caden Kranenburg and Cooper Kranenburg.
Theresa worked as a tax clerk for the treasurer’s office. She was a two time Past President for the American Legion Post # 357 Aux and a member of the Northern Indiana Philatelic Society. She was an Avid stamp collector, loved yard sales, puzzles, sudoku, playing cards and she was a very talented seamstress. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation for Theresa will be held on Tuesday September 22, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road South Bend, IN. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the Funeral service beginning at 11:00 am on Wednesday September 23, 2026. Burial will follow St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Theresa Futa may be made out to Ascent Hospice or Pet Refuge.
