Mishawaka - Daniel Martin Jr., 78, passed away in his home on Tuesday, February 26. Daniel was born on June 13, 1929 in South Bend as the son of Daniel and Martha (Csicsics) Martin Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Virginia Paree and a brother Robert.

On May 6, 1950 in South Bend he was joined in marriage to Mary Weiss. Surviving Daniel are his loving wife of almost 58 years, Mary; two daughters, Michele (Scott) Charlton of Morrow, OH and Gail (Michael) Kedik of South Bend; a son Jay (Annie) Martin of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Joshua (Robyn) Charlton, Daniel Kedik, Christopher (Cayla) Kedik, Jennifer Wilson, Tim Kedik and David Martin; three great grandchildren, Ayana, Peyton and Emma and a brother, Donn Martin of Largo, FL.

Daniel was a South Bend Police Officer for 23 years. He was partners in a Ceramic Store and was Security for South Bend Community School Corporation. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka and the FOP Lodge #36. Daniel was a member of Good Sam's Club. He enjoyed camping, traveling and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 1st, in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka where visitation will be two hours before, with Rev. Dan Scheldt officiating. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46544 or the Christ Child Society 1124 W.
