SOUTH BEND - Mildred Miskin, 86, passed away at 2:55 pm Saturday, February 6, 2016 in Memorial Hospital. Mildred was born on August 2, 1929 in South Bend to Josip and Smilja (Zernich) Kosanovich. She retired from Wheelhorse and also had been employed by Associates. Millie was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, its Aleksa Shantich Choir and the Circle of Serbian Sisters. O
n May 25, 1963 in South Bend she married Steven D. Miskin. He died on February 15, 2002. Millie was also preceded in death by three brothers, Nick Kosanovich, Stephen Kosanovich and John “Yanko” Kosanovich.
Surviving are a daughter, Christine (Jim) Kozakiewicz of Noblesville, IN, a son, Steven D. (Anne) Miskin of South Bend, five grandchildren, Haley (Andrew) Boyd, Layne Miskin, Nicole Miskin, Steven Kozakiewicz and Nikola “Nick” Kozakiewicz, and a great-grandchild, Kael.
Funeral services will be celebrated at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-8 Tuesday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will also take place 1 hour prior to services in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church.
