Gerald J. Bartkowiak

Mishawaka - Gerald J. Bartkowiak, 93, formerly of South Bend, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022. Gerald was born April 28, 1929 in South Bend, to the late Casimer and Sophia (Brzezniak) Bartkowiak. He married his loving wife, Margaret (Wroblewski) Bartkowiak, she preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Elaine (Roman) Stodolny; brothers, Norman Bartkowiak and Joseph P. Barnes.

Left to cherish the memory of Gerald are his daughters, Kathy & Karen Bartkowiak; his nieces, Susan (Rich) Pusztai, Anne (Mark) Maron, Christine (Paul) Barnes-Carlson; nephews, Kenneth (Barb) Bartkowiak, Bryan (Lorraine) Chojnacki, Larry (Karen) Chojnacki.

Gerald honorably served in the United States Navy from 1947-1951. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. Gerald enjoyed playing the piano, tennis, reading, and working part time at ND Eck Pavilion.

The family would like to thank Pamellah Owilli, the Beloved Home Care family, and Caring Cove Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they provided.

Visitation will be 9:00am to 10:00am, with a Mass of Christian Burial Celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
