Booker T. Vann Jr., passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in Middletown, Ohio.

Booker was born on March 25, 1950 to the late Willie (Susie) Lee and Booker T. Vann Sr. in Cruger, Mississippi.

The family moved to South Bend, Indiana in 1952. Booker graduated from Washington High School in 1969 where he excelled in football and track. He received a scholarship to play football at the University of South Dakota. After college he began working in Sales and Marketing. He finished his career working for World Color, where he retired in 2010.

He enjoyed sports and cooking. He made many dishes for his family and friends. His BBQ ribs, many seafood dishes and famous garlic butter were among everyone’s favorites.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Lee and Booker T. Vann Sr., sisters, Pearl Hermon and Dartha Lucas; brothers, Sol Lee Vann, Johnny Vann, Andrew Lee and Roger Vann.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Brenda Vann of Middletown, OH.; daughters, Chene Thornton (Lee) of Gainesville, GA., Yasmin Vann of Middletown, OH. and Autumn Vann of Indianapolis, IN.; sons, Booker T. Vann III (Tasha) of Monroe, OH., Chris Vann of South Bend, IN. and Shaquille Vann of South Bend, IN.; grandchildren, Jordan, Brooklyn and Damiyrah Vann; sisters, Ruby Frison, Dollie Dempsey, Rose Thesing, Genola (Richard III) Johnson and Stephanie Fox, all of South Bend, IN.; brothers, Tommy Vann, Rev. Eddie Vann, Amos Vann and Patrick Vann, all of South Bend, IN.; special friends, Herb and Louise Wagner; along with a host of other in –laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
