Ms. Curtina M. Kirkendoll-Biffle, 51, dear mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, resided on West Washington Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away following an illness at 10:45 a.m.

Tuesday, May 21, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Curtina, daughter of Curtis and Tommye (Dillard) Kirkendoll, was born in Hayti, Mo., on Jan. 15, 1951. Coming from Hayti, she moved to South Bend with her parents as a young child. In Curtina's senior year of high school, she was employed on her first job as a computer operator at the steel warehouse.

After graduating from Washington High School she attended the University of Chicago for two years. Following college she was employed by Rush Presbyterian Hospital, Chicago, III., as a secretary. After returning to South Bend she worked for the City of South Bend mayor's office until her retirement. For many years Curtina was an active and dedicated member of St. Paul Bethel Baptist Church where she served in the youth department, was a Sunday school teacher, and was a past member of the usher board.

She was also active in the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Family members who survive to cherish her memory include three sons, Kyrshaun (Julie) Biffle, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Oxnard, Calif., Franco Biffle a and Brandon Biffle, both of South Bend; one grandchild, Sierra Biffle; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Kirkendoll of South Bend; two sisters, Denise Stucky of Marietta, Ga., and Betty (John) Bellard of Montgomery, Ala.; a brother, Stephen Kirkendoll of South Bend; along with many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at noon Saturday, May 25, in St. Paul Bethel Baptist Church, with Reverend Gilbert Washington officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call in the church one hour prior to the services. Alford's Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
