M. Harold Hendrix, 53, of South 31st Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in Memorial Hospital South Bend.

Harold was born on Oct. 10, 1949, in Burnsville, Miss., to Merlon W. and Gloria J. (Clark) Hendrix.

On Nov. 28, 1970, in South Bend, Harold married Gail L. Cassady. Gail survives along with one daughter, Jennifer M. Hendrix of South Bend; one son, Jonathan W. Hendrix of South Bend; his mother, Gloria J. Stroup of South Bend; one sister, Lisa (Mark) McCoy of Roseland, Ind.; his stepmother, Edith Hendrix of Mississippi; one stepsister Doris Lentz of Glen, Miss.; one stepbrother, James E. Woorley of Mississippi; four uncles, Robert Clark of South Bend, Billy Clark of Indianapolis, Ind., Larry Clark of Washington, and Jhue Hendrix of Mississippi. Also surviving is Christopher L. Peppers of South Bend, who was thought of as a son.

Harold was preceded by one sister; Deborah C. Hendrix; his stepfather, Theodore Stroup Jr.; one stepbrother, Gerald Woorley; and by his Aunt Ella Byrd Tucker.

Harold worked as a salesman in communications.

Family and friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 in South Side General Baptist Church, 1615 S. Spring Street, Mishawaka with Rev. Ledford Stults officiating, burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

Memorial contributions may be made to the South Side General Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
