LEBANON, IN - James Alexander, 63, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 in St. Vincent Seton Hospital, due to complications from a stroke. Jim was born October 28, 1949 in Goshen. On August 10, 1974, Jim married his high school sweetheart, Diana Wasikowski. She survives, along with their children, who were his great source of pride and joy: son, Matthew Alexander of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Amanda Alexander of Lebanon, IN; his loving mother, Evelyn Durski of Goshen; brothers, Donald (Donna) Alexander of South Bend and Robert (Tina) Alexander of Wilsonville, OR; and sisters-in-law, Linda Pianstki of South Bend and Marcia Mikolajewski of Mishawaka. James also leaves behind many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jim worked for the trucking industry for many years until he retired in 2000 from Morgan Drive-Away in Elkhart; he also was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon, IN. Since his retirement he spent his days collecting, organizing, and cataloging every song ever recorded, working in his yard, attending sporting events, especially races, Purdue games and Colts football. Jim also loved to travel, including an Alaskan cruise last August. Jim also loved to dance and had a unique sense of humor. When Jim was greeted with, "Good to see you," his favorite response would be, "I'd rather be seen than viewed." Jim may be 'seen' from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, February 11, 2013 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, 319 East South St., Lebanon, Indiana 46052. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
