Frederick J. Scaife

Mr. "Freddie” J. Scaife, 50, beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who resided on Southview Lane, South Bend, passed away unexpectantly 03/28/21 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Frederick was born 07/22/70 in South Bend, Indiana to the union of Ray and Dorothy (Reynolds) Scaife.

Freddie graduated with the Washington High School Class of 1989, where he was a member of the WHS Band. He worked as a cook for West Bend Nursing Home. Cooking was one of his favorite hobbies.

Freddie loved spending time with his family, sweetheart Kim and friends. He also loved joking around and talking smack about his Michigan Wolverines being the best, and Notre Dame being Notre Shame.

Loved ones who are left to cherish his memory include Dorothy Scaife (mother); siblings: Sonya Scaife, Kevin Scaife (Indianapolis), Derrick Scaife, Keith (Wanda) Scaife (South Bend); children: Raven Scaife (Canton, OH), Sierra Scaife (Warsaw, IN), Shyla, Damari and Tyler Scaife(South Bend), Desirae and Derrick Scaife (Hillsdale, MI) Savannah Scaife and Desmond Diggins (Clearwater, FL); 7 grandchildren; his “Lady, and Sweetheart”, Kimberly White (MI); and a host of relatives: grandfather Fred Scaife, Sr., aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the “Wellington St.” extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Scaife; sister Stephanie Scaife and grandparents Nellie M. Scaife and Laura and John Reynolds.

Funeral service to be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Palmer Funeral Homes - West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Friends may call on the family for visitation for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery. Due to Covid-19, the family of Frederick Scaife requires that facial masks or coverings are worn while attending the service.
