Josephine V Rzepnicki, 87 years old, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Story Point Assisted Living in Granger.
Josephine was born on November 06, 1938 in South Bend, to the late Frank and Laura (Lach) Paprocki. She graduated from South Bend Washington High School in 1956. On July 14, 1962, Josephine married the love of her life, Norbert Rzepnicki, who survives.
Along with her loving husband of 63 years, Josephine is survived by her children, Ann Marie (Daniel) Elek, Pamela (Anthony) Moore, Christine (Chris) Lemert, and Robert (Nina) Rzepnicki; grandchildren, Brandon (Cassandra) Elek, Austin Elek, Collin Elek, Shelby Moore, Dylan (Allison) Lemert, Dalton (Caroline) Lemert, Gavin Rzepnicki, and Mallory Rzepnicki; great-grandchildren, Bruce Elek, Grace Elek, and Owen Lemert.
Josephine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. She treasured every holiday, birthday, and family gathering, creating countless cherished memories with those she loved. A charter member of the Die-Hard Cub Fan Club and a lifelong Cubs enthusiast, she fulfilled several bucket-list dreams, including attending Cubs Spring Training, enjoying a memorable rooftop Cubs game with her family, and her #1 list was living long enough to witness the Cubs winning the World Series in 2016. She was also a devoted Elvis fan and delighted in visiting Graceland with her daughters. An avid bowler, Josephine spent many years competing in league play and enjoyed staying active by working out with her daughter. She loved being social, spending time with friends, admiring beautiful flowers, and caring for her beloved dog, Wrigley. Josephine's warmth, vibrant spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:30am Thursday, June 4, 2026 with a time of visitation starting at 10:00am all at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd, South Bend, IN 46619. Josephine will be interred at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in honor of Josephine Rzepnicki may be made out to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
