Ervin J. Machowiak

SOUTH BEND - Ervin J. Machowiak, 73, passed away at 12:55 pm on May 4, 2011 in his residence. Ervin was born on January 4, 1938 in South Bend to the late Stanley and Phyllis (Wozniak) Machowiak. He is also preceded in death by his grandson, Ricky H. Scott II and by his brother, Bernard.

On May 17, 1958 he married Kathleen Wesolowski in South Bend, she survives along with their children, Patti Scott of South Bend, John (Sue) Machowiak of South Bend, Brian (Melisa) Machowiak of South Bend, Jayne (Steve) Smith of Goshen; nine grandchildren, Randy (Natasha) Scott, Ryan (Jessica) Scott, Shelby Scott, April Smith, Jessica Smith, Emily Smith, Ashlee Machowiak, Devin Machowiak and Dayna Machowiak; and six great-grandchildren, Alyssa Scott, Kambri Scott, Ashton Scott, Kaiden Scott, Carson Scott and Amillo Lopez; and by his sister, Gertrude Wachowiak of South Bend.

Ervin retired after 20 years with the South Bend Fire Department. Following retirement he continued to work for the Fire Department of South Bend in the maintenance division. Ervin loved spending time at the campground and enjoyed family gatherings
