Richard C. “Dick” Thompson

Son of Donald J. and Lucille V. Dahlke Thompson.

He married Carol A. Bourret on June 13, 1959, in South Bend, Ind. She survives. Also surviving is his mother of South Bend, Ind.; three sons, David of Security, Colo., Richard "Rick" (Pam) of Peoria and Matt (Billi) of East Peoria; two daughters, Beth of East Peoria and Jill (Jim) Marter of Oswego; and one sister, Donna Griffith of Loveland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father and his son, Doug in 2005.

He worked as a teacher in South Bend, Ind., for 10 years, and was a professor in history at Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Ill., for 25 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria.

Cremation will be accorded with inurnment of ashes in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria, Ill., at a later date.
