Jose Antonio Garza

Mr. Jose Antonio Garza, 49, passed away during the early hours of Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at his residence in South Bend. Jose was born on February 7, 1970 to Ernesto V. and Carmen H. (Hernandez) Garza.

A life-long resident of South Bend, Jose was employed as a maintenance worker and worked for Century Foam in Elkhart and was a proud father of one daughter. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping, golfing and spending time outdoors. Jose also loved Mickey Mouse. He was a cherished brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jose is survived by his daughter, Yvanna (Anthony J. Starzynski) Garza of South Bend; siblings Rosa M. (Jesse Fuentes) Garza of South Bend, Ramon Garza, Sr. of South Bend, Ninfa M. (David Klump) Garza of Osceola, Delia (Jaime) Otiz of San Juan, TX, Alisia M. Garza of South Bend and Rudy (Rebecca) Garza of Mishawaka; father Ernesto V. Garza, Jr. of South Bend; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Jose was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen, and brother, Ernesto V. Garza III.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 1308 Dunham St, South Bend, IN 46619. Friends may call on the family for visitation from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19th at Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN 46628. A rosary will be read at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Online expressions of sympathy may be left at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
