Anne Marie James, 78, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana surrounded by family. She was born on May 6, 1946 in Brousseval, France to the late Eugene and Jeanine (Cinal) Hoffman. On June 13, 1964, she married Robert Milo James who preceded her in death on July 12, 2019. Anne is survived by daughter, Yvette M. (Todd) Snyder of Rolling Prairie, IN and son, Robby F. (Donna) James of New Carlisle, IN; four grandchildren, Jessica (Eric) Collins, Jacqueline Lantero, Rebecca James and Katie James; six great grandchildren, Liam, Harper, Zachary, Aiden and Colton; goddaughter, Catherine Durand and cousin Georges Durand and one brother-in-law, Charles James. She was also preceded in death by her sister Yvonne McGill, one great granddaughter, Elizabeth and one brother-in-law, Timothy James. She graduated from Washington High School in 1964. She retired from Howmet in LaPorte after working over 40+ years. She enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener/lawn mowing and weed eating. She loved her beloved dog, Jenny. She will greatly be missed by her family and friends.
Anne requested no funeral services, but a Celebration of life will be held at Hamilton Church on Chicago Trail and Walnut Road on May 10, 2025, around noon. Memorial contributions can be made to Olive Elementary School or New Carlisle food pantry or The Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana.
