Gail L. Hall (Fletcher)

Gail L. Hall - Fletcher

November 9, 1947 ~ May 25, 2024 (age 76)

Gail Hall-Fletcher, a beacon of love and generosity, completed her earthly journey on May 25, 2024, in her hometown of South Bend, where she first graced the world with her presence on November 9, 1947.  Born to the late James R. Hall and Catherine (Payne) Hall, Gail’s life was a testament to the power of wisdom and the strength of familial bonds.

Gail’s legacy is carried on through her loving family, including her devoted daughter, Tamiko (Milton) Pittman, and her loving son, Sean Walton, both of South Bend.  She was a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren, Christopher, Sean, Lisa, Typhani, Felicia, Destiny, Cevion, Dedrean, Tamia, Alena, Anthony and Delano. An adored great-grandmother to her great-grandchildren, Tymir, Shai, Carlito, Legend, Laila, Yahsir, Yahzi, Izayah, Iyahnni, Danny and Ahnesti, each of whom brought immense joy and purpose to her life. Her siblings, Janice (Donnie) Johnson, Sandra Ingram, James (Myrtis) Hall Jr, Beverly Hall, Belinda Hall, Phyllis (Lance) Robinson, Marilynn Hall, Michelle Gunn, Gwendolyn Hall, Vanessa Brown, Charmaine Hall, Sister-in-love Mai Pittman and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins will hold dear the memories of her unwavering love.

Gail was preceded in death by her daughter, Tanetta Walton, her sister, Sheila M. Hall, her brothers, Michael D. Hall and George A. Hall, and her great-grandson, Levi, all of whom she now joins in eternal peace.

Professionally, Gail dedicated her career to serving the community and retiring in 2009 from the Bureau of Developmental Disability Services for the State of Indiana.  As a service coordinator, she was a pillar of support and an advocate for the disabled, ensuring that every individual she worked with felt valued and empowered.  Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her devotion to her faith community at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she served with humility and grace as a former secretary.

Gail’s life was a symphony of joyous moments, underscored by her love for music and dancing.  She found solace and happiness in the melodies that filled her home and the rhythms that moved her feet.  Even in her quieter times, Gail was known to engage in playful games on her phone, a pastime that reflected her youthful spirit and love for life’s simple pleasures.

To describe Gail as loving, wise, and funny is to capture the essence of her spirit, but it is only the beginning.  She was a woman who saw the good in every person and every situation.  Gail’s heart knew no bounds, and her capacity for love was as vast as the universe itself.

The family invites you to a Celebration of Life service for Gail to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Palmer Funeral Home- West Chapel, 2707 Lincolnway West, South Bend.  Friends may visit with family from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
