James Marion Cinal (Booie)
October 12, 1947 ~ August 12, 2025 (age 77)
James M. Cinal (Booie), 77, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center due to a sudden cardiac event. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on October 12, 1947, in South Bend to the late Thaddeus and MaryJane (Kasznia) Cinal. On November 4, 1967, he married the former Terri Davison, his high school sweetheart. They would be celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary this year.
Left to cherish the memories of Jim are his two daughters, Jami Cinal of Jacksonville, FL, and Jennifer (Nick) Zizzo of Granger, IN. He was the beloved Dzia Dzia to Nicholas, Taylor, and Nathan Zizzo as well as Beckett and Braxton Cinal.
Jim is also survived by three brothers, Kenneth (Beverly) of Niceville, FL, Ted (Romelia) of South Bend, IN, and Gregory (Julie) of North Liberty, IN, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and a special sister-in-law Ronda Pennell. Jim is also survived by many beloved friends.
Jim graduated from Washington High School in 1966. He also had an associate's degree from IUSB. He retired from AM General after 39 years of service. Jim was a member of Crumstown Conservation Club, Bowler's Country Club, St. Joseph Young Men's Society, American Legion Post 303, Club 15, and American Legion Post 284 where he was a member of the Honor Guard. He loved to play golf, euchre, poker, shoot pool, play darts, and was always on multiple sports boards.
He was an avid Cubs, Notre Dame, and Chicago Bears fan. Jim was always working on projects around the house and for his family. He was quite the handyman. Jim was known for his grilling and cooking abilities, and loved trying new recipes. His work ethic was second to none. Jim and Terri enjoyed many years wintering in The Villages and taking cruises and bus trips.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received from 2:00-5:00 PM Friday, August 15, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN 46628. A celebratory dinner will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Jim will be greatly missed by all.
