Chester T Walker (nee Walesiewicz)

MISHAWAKA - Chester T. Walker, 85, passed away on Sunday November 3, 2013 in Golden Living Center Fountainview Mishawaka. Chester was born on September 16, 1928 in South Bend as the son of Chester and Helen (Paskiet) Walesiewicz. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Edward Walesiewicz, and a sister Gladys "Reta" Kopala.
After graduating high school Chester proudly served his country in the United States Army.
On February 7, 1953 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church South Bend he married the former Arletta A. Zimmerman. He is survived by his loving wife Arletta of Mishawaka, his daughter Wendy (Gerry) Hums of Mishawaka and his son James P. Walker of Mishawaka,; five grandchildren; Jeffrey ( Jolene) Hums, Michael ( Katie) Hums, Benjamin Walker (Gail O' Brien), Amber (Jeff) Porter, Bethany Walker,; Eight great grandchildren; Tyler Hums, Cooper Hums, Jacobs Hums, Hayden Hums, Madison Stouder, Allison Walker, Kaleb Porter, Keire Porter, ; Two sisters, Alice Young of South Bend and Annette Stefaniak of Mishawaka.
Chester was a new and used car salesman for many years in this area working for Romy Hammes Ford and then for Jordan Ford in Mishawaka, later for Kim Graham Motors, before his retirement. Chester had many accomplishments serving as president of the Mustang Club at Romy Hammes Ford along with belonging to sales club, but none made him more proud than being a father and grandfather. He was a true outdoors man. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting mushrooms. He was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church Mishawaka and a former member of VFW 360.
Visitation will be from 4- 8 pm on Tuesday November 5, 2013 in Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th Street Mishawaka rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday November 6th at 10 am in St. Bavo's Catholic Church with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery Mishawaka with Military Rites by VFW 360 /American Legion 161.
