Richard Strozewski

Richard Strozewski, 84, of Quincy, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his home. The service will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, on Wednesday beginning at 12 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion, Post #52, Drill Team.

Richard was born January 28, 1931 in South Bend, IN to Anthony & Lottie (Celichowski) Strozewski. He married Peggy J. Chase on August 1, 1953 in South Bend, IN. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2010.

Mr. Strozewski graduated from the University of Michigan earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. He played football for U of M where he was part of the winning team for the 1951 Rose Bowl game. Richard served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1957 and in the Air Force Reserves until 1966.

Richard worked for National Standard in Niles, MI for 47 years, retiring in 2000. He came to the Quincy area in 1992 and enjoyed life on Marble Lake, especially fishing. He enjoyed golfing and his 2 dogs. Richard loved to travel the country with his wife and spending vacations in Minnesota with his family. He was a skilled carpenter who enjoyed remodeling the homes they had lived in.

Richard is survived by his children Joan (William) Matejovsky, Janet (Chad) Musselman, Richard (Sara) Strozewski, Jayne (Paul) Moyer, Allen Strozewski, Jean (Glen) Warnke, David (Sheri) Strozewski, 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his brother Frank Strozewski and his sister Genevieve Kucharski.

Memorials may be directed to the National Association for Downs Syndrome or the American Diabetes Association.
