Clabe "Jack" Roberts Jr.

Jan. 14, 1930 - June 27, 2005

Clabe "Jack" Roberts Jr., 75, of East Campeau Street, South Bend, Ind., departed this life Monday, June 27, 2005. He was born to the union of Clabe and Ida Roberts on January 14, 1930, in South Bend, Ind. After the death of his mother, Clabe Roberts Sr.

later married Susie Loyd. Clabe Jr. was a graduate of Washington High School. He began working during this time at the age of 14 at Radio & Furniture Mart where he met and was united in marriage to Pearlie Wolfe, his wife of 55 years. He retired in 1978.

He later was employed by Eslinger Furniture Store for seven years. Clabe Jr. was also a veteran of the Korean War in which he received special recognition for detailed and superior maintenance of service vehicles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clabe and Ida Roberts; and stepmother, Susie Roberts; a brother, Charles Roberts; a sister, Betty Roberts; and by a grandson, Terral Roberts Wardlow. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Pearlie Roberts; two daughters, Elaine Roberts Boswell and Kathy Roberts; a brother, Nathan Bob Lee Roberts; a grandson, Ryan (Telina) Boswell; a great-grandson, Trevonne Howard Wardlow; and a great-step-grandson, Antoine Payne, all of South Bend.

A special thank you to Derrick Phillips, without you his care at home would not have been possible. Also thank you to a host of close friends and neighbors. Throughout Clabe's life he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather whose main goal in life was to provide for his family which he did with great pride, and for that daddy we will always be grateful. You will forever be in our hearts and prayers. Now we have another angel watching over us.

We love you Pa-Pa. Kathy, Elaine and Ryan Funeral services for Clabe "Jack" Roberts Jr. will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 1 , 2005, in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Visitation will be one hour before services.
