Marvin H.Matuszak, 72, of Sylvan Lane, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4 a.m.on Saturday, Feb.28, in his residence. He was born on September 12, 1931 in South Bend to Harry R. and Carrie (Zakszewski) Matuszak.Marvin married Norine Chudley who passed away in 1994. His father, Harry, and brother, Lawrence are deceased.

Marvin is survived by his mother, Carrie Matuszak of South Bend; son, Bob (Karina) Matuszak of Marietta, Ga.; stepdaughters, Linda Conway of Marietta, Delores Helsdon of Rapid City, S.D.; grandson, Ryan Matuszak and five step-grandchildren.

Marvin was a professional football player.He was a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49er’s, Baltimore Colts, Buffalo Bills and the Denver Bronco’s and was an NFL coach for 12 years. He was a member of the NFL Alumni Association, American Legion, and VFW.He was a well know member of the community. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, March 1, in ST.JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.Tuesday, March 2, in the funeral home.Burial will be in St.Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
