Stanley D. Leszczynski

SOUTH BEND - Stanley Daniel Leszczynski Jr., 89, peacefully passed away on May 24, 2021 in Lake Zurich, IL at Cedar Lake Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility. Stanley was born in South Bend, IN on September 5, 1931 to Stanley and Florence (Babicz) Leszczynski who both preceded him in death.

Stanley married Claudette Chwalek on October 15, 1955 at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Stanley will live on in the hearts of his wife and five children: Steven (Pam), Ken (Carol), Larry (Sioban), Mark (Elise)and Nancy (Steve Kershaw); twelve grandchildren: Jill, Eric, Sara, Kevin, Michael, Robbie, DJ, Patrick, Katie, Rachel, Michael and Matthew; four great-grandchildren: Noah, Grant, Carter and Dylan. Stanley is also survived by his two sisters Evelyn Gadacz and Marie Stefaniak.

Stanley graduated from Washington High School in South Bend, IN and worked for Indiana & Michigan Electric Company for 36 years until his retirement in 1992.

Stanley was a family man. As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren excel in school and sports. He reveled in his family's successes and accomplishments. He was an avid sports fanatic, but especially loved the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame Football and Basketball were always his favorite topic of conversations. When Stanley was around, there was always a competitive croquet match or card game nearby. He will also be remembered for his love of country and polka music. His sports knowledge and dry humor will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held from 1:15 to 2:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. The funeral mass will commence after the visitation. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
