Marie D. Ginter

SOUTH BEND - South Bend - Marie D. Ginter, 87, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 in Southfield Village. Marie was born August 12, 1930 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Theresa (Kalka) Ginter. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Ginter.

Survivors of Marie include her favorite daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” & favorite son-in-law, David Crim; favorite granddaughter, Kimberly (Crim) & husband Michael Rowe and favorite grandson, Ryan Crim; sisters, Dorothy Kuzmicz, Barbara Ginter and Kathleen Ginter.

Marie was a Parishioner of St. Adalbert Parish. She was a very hard worker, starting at Wilson Brothers then continuing onto Meyers Hardware, and C.E. Lee, until retiring from Werntz Supply. Marie enjoyed bowling, reading, knitting, gardening, puzzles and spending time with her family and friends playing cards. She also enjoyed listening to Notre Dame Basketball and White Sox Baseball games. The family referred to her as “Josephine the Plumber” as she was always trying to fix the plumbing in their old house. Marie loved her family and grandchildren very much. They will always cherish the memories of making tents throughout the house and her famous little sandwiches.

Visitation for Marie will be 2:00pm to 7:00 pm, Sunday, October 22, 2017 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary being prayed at 5:00pm. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00am, Monday, October 23, 2017 in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
