Eugene R. Cheh

Eugene R. Cheh, 67, of Fellows Street, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Mishawaka, Ind., died at 4:27 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka. Gene was bom in South Bend on July 26, 1930, and had lived in this area most of his life.

He retired from the sales division of Swift & Company in 1975. Gene graduated from Washington High School of South Bend in 1949 and Purdue University in 1958. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He married the former Delores J. Nifong in Mishawaka on Sept. 1, 1957. She survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Julie D. (Joe) Perdue of Richmond, Va.; his son, Steven M. (Jacqueline) Cheh of Indianapolis, Ind.; his grandchildren, Michael and Amanda Cheh, and Jacob Perdue.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Wilkins of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church Childrens Fund
