SOUTH BEND - Gary L. Huston, 60, of South Bend, passed away at 11:30 AM Sunday, April 29th, at Acres of Indiana in New Carlisle, IN, after an extended illness. Mr. Huston was born on October 9, 1951, in South Bend, and had resided in the area his lifetime. He retired from Midwest Operating Engineers as a heavy equipment operators after many years of service.
Gary is survived by his parents, Richard E. and Vesta J. (Hofferth) Huston of South Bend; a daughter, Danielle L. (Kyle) Briney of South Bend; two sons, Ryan L. (Amy) Huston and Jason D. (Jennifer) Huston, both of South Bend; two sisters, Chris M. (Jory) Racz of South Bend and Shirley A. (Charles) Findley of Wooster, Ohio; and seven loving grandchildren whom he loved and cherished, Cole, Natalie, Kaitlyn, Hailey, Jacob, Drew and Khloe.
Mr. Huston loved NASCAR, camping, music, and being with family. He was very active within the Lydick United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Local 150 Midwest Operating Engineers. Gary was a wonderful, loving father and grandfather who cared dearly for his family as they did him. He will be dearly missed by his wonderful family, his church family, and all who had the opportunity to know Gary during his life journey.
