SOUTH BEND - Paul Orban, 73, of South Bend, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 St. Joseph Reginal Medical Center - Mishawaka Campus. Paul was born November 4, 1947 in South Bend, to the late Alexander and June (Buckingham) Orban.

Paul graduated from South Bend Washington High School in 1965; he then went on to further his education at Bethel University, Indiana University of South Bend, and the University of San Diego.

He served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in February of 1973.

On April 3, 1982 in South Bend, Paul married Sharon Clancy; and she survives.

Paul retired from the University of Notre Dame where he worked as Production Manager for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral Church, and the American Legion Post 284. He was active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society Center, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed playing pool, having earned several trophies.

Surviving with his loving wife, Sharon, are their three children, Charles Orban of South Bend, Laura Orban of Mishawaka, and Colleen (Trenton) Weldy of South Bend; five grandchildren, Liliana Orban, Julian Orban, Lorelai Weldy, Myla Weldy, and Audra Weldy. Also, he is survived by his siblings, Lucinda (Russ) Kuc of Mishawaka, Rick (Jan) Orban of Warsaw, and Melinda Groeneweg of Mentone.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00AM Thursday, May 6, 2021 at St. Matthew Cathedral Church, 1701 Miami Street, South Bend, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating.

Visitation will be from 3-7PM Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, with a rosary being recited at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume at 10:00AM at the church on Thursday.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Southlawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Matthew Cathedral Church.
