In Memory

Marsha Nora (Holland) Bennett
November 30, 1946 ~ February 9, 2026 (age 79)
Marsha Nora (Holland) Bennett, a beacon of faith and family love, passed away in her home on February 9, 2026, at the age of 79.
Marsha was born in South Bend, Indiana, on November 30, 1946, to the late Seylis and Nora (Barley) Holland. Marsha was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a 1965 graduate of Washington High School. On June 18, 1966, she married her sweetheart, Leland Bennett who preceded her in death on August 29, 2018. Also preceding her in death is her son, Mark Bennett; siblings, Farrell Holland Sr, Shari Myzsak and Dwight Holland. Surviving Marsha is her daughter Michele Bennett, her grandchildren; Christian (Skylar), Brandon (Britany), Mark (Brooke), Tesla (Juan), Stormy, and her treasured great-grandchildren, Aspen, Ellianna, Ezrianna, Emberlyn, Derek, Levi, Wesson, Serjio, Wyatt, and Jesse.
Marsha dedicated over 40 years of her career to the camera department at CVS (previously Osco Drug Store). One of her favorite times at work was working during Notre Dame home game weekends. She loved meeting all the new people and getting to know her regulars. She was an avid Notre Dame football and women’s basketball fan and loved the Green Bay Packers.
Marsha was a member at Journey Church in Granger for over 20 years before becoming a regular attendee at Lighthouse Vineyard Church in Elkhart. Her faith was profound and illuminated the path for many around her. If you knew Marsha, you knew that she absolutely loved Elvis Presley. She was able to meet him in person after his last concert in South Bend in 1976. She was able to sit next to him in his limo and have a conversation with him. It didn’t bother her one bit that she went over and under barricades to get to him nor did it bother her that she had her little 5 year old daughter with her. It became a cherished memory for them both. She visited Graceland a few times and each time it was better than the last and more sentimental. She also loved her classic TV shows like "The Andy Griffith Show" and "I Love Lucy”. You could also catch her watching Hallmark Christmas Movies no matter what time of year it was.
Marsha loved her children and grandchildren. Being surrounded by family and the laughter of her kids/grandkids was something that truly warmed her heart. Her great-grandkids would call her “purple hair grandma” because she loved to color her hair purple, which was her favorite color.
Marsha’s true light was being able to share her love for Jesus. Sitting next to Elvis is nothing compared to where she is sitting now with her Lord and Savior in the Kingdom of Heaven.
