Thomas F. Slisz

Thomas F. Slisz, 77, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at his home with his wife of almost 48 years.

Tom was born on April 8, 1944 in South Bend to the late Fred and Irene (Banasiewicz) Slisz. He married Sandra Michalski on May 31, 1974.

Tom is survived by his wife Sandra, beloved dog Annie and two stepdaughters: Tina Kahler of Middlebury and Robin (Albert) Fox of Osceola. As well as five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren (with one on the way) and four great-great-grandchildren. Tom is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ralph Slisz.

Tom worked for many years and retired from the South Bend Post Office working and maintaining the post office machinery. He enjoyed working on computers and even had one of the first home computers you could buy at the time. Tom loved new technology and having the latest advancements in technology in his home. He also liked to invent things around the house for his wife Sandra. Tom had a great passion for music, he loved playing the guitar and the keyboard. Tom was also a talented artist painting pictures and he enjoyed photography. He even had his own dark room where he would develop film. Tom also had a great love for movies and when he wasn't inside, he was outside where he loved working in his yard.

In lieu of flowers, it was Tom's wish that any memorial donations be made in memory of Toys from Tom to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Gift Processing Administrator, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172.

There will be no services for Tom. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home of Elkhart is in charge of arrangements. To leave the family an online condolence, please visit the funeral home website.
