Loretta Marie (Piatkowski) Mink

SOUTH BEND Loretta Marie (Piatkowski) Mink passed away July 30th at her home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Born in South Bend, IN, Loretta received her nursing training at Holy Cross Central School of Nursing before going on to receive her RN and Bachelor's in Nursing from University of Phoenix, before practicing nursing for nearly 50 years.

Loretta is survived by her son, Staff Sgt. Micheal T. Mink, USMC Ret.; daughter-in-law, Gunnery Sgt. Angela C. Mink; grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Jo-Elizabeth, Madison, Kolby & Monique; and great-grandson, Michael D. Mink Jr.

She is also survived by her sister, Sylvia Buszkiewicz of New Carlisle, Ind.; brother, Joseph (Betty) Piatkowski of Mishawaka; brother-in-law, Larry Slaughter and wife, Bernie of Williamsburg, Va.; and nieces & nephews, Charles (Julie), Beth Ann, John, Jessica & James.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Mink, and son, Anthony P. Mink.

Services will be at Lietz & Fraze Funeral Home 10 am Saturday, Aug. 10th. Donations may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association
