Joshua E. Kaser

Joshua E. Kaser, of South Bend, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at the age of 43. Josh was born on November 26, 1978 to Garey and Nancy(Sattler) Kaser in South Bend. He was a 1997 graduate of Washington High School and went on to study at Western Michigan University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in music. On September 10, 2011 in South Bend he was united in marriage to Sarah (Frye) Kaser who survives.

Josh is also survived by their 3 children, son, Sean Kruszewski, daughters, Lucy and Lilly Kaser. His mother, Nancy Kaser, brothers, Jeff Kaser of Lancaster, CA and Jordan (Erin) Kaser of Deadwood, SD, and maternal grandmother, Gladys Sattler. He was preceded in death by his father, Garey Kaser, father-in-law, James D. Frye, maternal grandfather, Alfred Sattler, paternal grandparents; Edward and Loeva Kaser.

Josh was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. Josh’s family meant more to him, than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Josh was unendingly proud of Lucy, Lilly, and Sean and always tried his best to support them.

Josh was also a passionate musician and could be found playing his trumpet with the Whistle Pigs. He also enjoyed golf, touring Europe with the Gold Company, made his living as a heavy equipment operator for Universal Services, and played for the Western Michigan Jazz Orchestra and served as a choir director for Sumption Prairie United Methodist Church.

Anyone who knew Josh knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. His one of a kind laugh, quick wit and sense of humor will forever proceed his memory.

Funeral services for Josh will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Palmer Funeral Home within the Lakeville Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan St. Lakeville, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15 and again on Friday, September 16 one hour prior to the service. Graveside service and burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Josh may be made directly to his wife Sarah Kaser to assist the family in future expenses. Checks may be made payable to Sarah Kaser, 62400 Orange Road, South Bend, IN 46614.
