Carol S. Hawley

South Bend - Carol S. Hawley, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the age of 81. She was born on March 8, 1940 in South Bend to the late Robert B. and Freda B. (Anderson) Mossman. Carol grew up in Lafayette, IN during WWII and then lived in Indianapolis before moving to South Bend with her parents. She graduated from Washington High School. On August 1, 1959 at First United Methodist Church in South Bend she was united in marriage to Jack A. Hawley who preceded her in death in 2009.

Carol was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, a Cub Scout Den Leader, volunteered for the First United Methodist Food Pantry, Church Women United and the Budget Corner. Carol enjoyed going to lunch with her friends and traveling when she had the opportunity. She enjoyed listening to the music of Elvis Presley.

Carol is survived by her sons, Jeffrey L. Hawley of South Bend and Robert "Chris" (Kathryn) Hawley of South Bend, along with her grandson, Brandon R. Hawley and her brother, David L. Mossman of South Bend.

Funeral Services for Carol will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635. A procession to Riverview Cemetery will take place immediately following the service. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, November 28 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
