Violet Csik (Jelinski) - Class Of 1958 VIEW PROFILE

Violet Csik (Jelinski)

Violet (Csik) Jelinski

March 30, 1939 ~ May 04, 2026 (age 87)

Violet Jelinski, 87, of South Bend, went to be in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 4, 2026, at the Center for Hospice Care (Raclin House).

She was born on March 30, 1939, in Szombathely, Hungary, to the late Julius and Helen Csik. Her family endured the unspeakable horrors of World War II and lived in an internment camp for five years before immigrating to the United States in 1950, sponsored by the Presbyterian Church in South Bend.

Violet graduated from Washington High School in 1958.  She married Alex Ellis and began her family. She was widowed in 1975.

Violet graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1969 and went on to work at Memorial Hospital. She became an instructor at the School of Nursing, teaching over 1,000 student nurses. This was not only her profession but her passion. She continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1977 and a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance in 1982.

Violet married Clyde Stacy and later became an ordained minister with her husband. Violet and Clyde moved to Florida, where they founded Clermont Christian Center. After 14 years, they returned to South Bend. Clyde passed away in 1997.

Violet later married Bernard Jelinski and continued her nursing and ministry work by volunteering with him at Memorial Hospital, visiting patients in a chaplain role. Caring for others was her life’s calling. Her life was devoted to Jesus, and she had deep compassion for those who were hurting. Bernard passed away in 2024.

Violet loved her family, nature, animals, flowers, and her pets. She read her Bible innumerable times. Her final wish was that all her family and friends would one day reunite with her in Heaven.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Kaniewski Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center for Hospice Care or Pet Refuge.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Memorial Hospital and the compassionate staff at the Raclin House.
