Kellermeier-Wells, Dixie Dixie Lee Kellermeier-Wells, age 82, of Rockford, passed away on January 4, 2023, in Grand Rapids, MI. She was born on November 6, 1940, to Alfred and Alberta (Banning) Blanchard in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from Washington High School in South Bend, Indiana. For eighteen years Dixie was the Deputy Treasurer for the City of Rockford. She was a member of Rockford Chapter #215, Order of the Eastern Star, Past Matron. OES Grand Chapter, Grand Marshal for the Webber/Lavis Grand Family, 1992. Grand Committee on the Youth Committee, Meinhart/Malacos Grand Family 1977-1978. President of Kent County Association, OES 1995-1996. Grand Representative to Illinois in Michigan, Talbot-Groves Grand Family July 28, 2020-August 28, 2023. Dixie also enjoyed watching sports and keeping track of statistics. Her favorite sports team was the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy and keeping track of the winners. Dixie also enjoyed sewing ,making pillowcases and giving them away. She was well known for her amazing pies that she made from scratch, especially her banana cream pie. Dixie is survived by her children, Blaine (Mary) Kellermeier of Rockford, Faith Ann (Mark) Micho of Rockford, Kimberly Kay (Ivor) Thomas of Rockford, Son, Cy Kellermeier of Gowen; grandchildren, Craig (Mallory) Kellermeier of Carrollton, Texas, Megan (Greg) Kellermeier-Chulski of Grand Rapids, Mackenzie (Matt) Micho-Rose of Rockford, Brenden Micho of Grand Rapids, Madison (fiance Drew Dow) Micho of Holland, Collin (Rachel) Thomas of Greenville, Riley (Zach) Thomas-Hofman of Grand Rapids, Murphie Thomas of Rockford; great-grandchildren, Kyler Kellermeier, Macie Kellermeier, Olivia Thomas, Ryar Chulski; sister, Sandy Geyer; sister-in-law, Pat Kellermeier; step-children, Lesley (Joe) Gallatin, Bill Wells; six step-grandsons; six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of forty-eight years, Lowell T Kellermeier; husband of ten years, William Thomas Wells. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N Monroe St., Rockford, MI 49341. The Eastern Star Service will be held at 5:00 pm following the visitation. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, 11:00 am at the Rockford United Methodist Church, 159 Maple St. NE, Rockford, MI 49341. There will be a visitation time one hour prior to the service at church. The burial will take place in the Rockford Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star - Education Fund, 20411 W 12 Mile Rd, Suite 108, Southfield, MI 48076.
