Mary C. Kubiak Jarze

SOUTH BEND, IN - Mary C. Jarze, 70, of South Bend, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Hospice House, South Bend. She was born on February 24, 1948, in South Bend, to Casimer and Marjorie L. (Claeys) Kubiak. On October 11, 1969, in Holy Family Catholic Church, she married Lawrence G. Jarze, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Jennifer (James Scheetz) Gaul of South Bend, David Jarze of Indianapolis, IN, and Kevin Jarze of South Bend; one grandchild, Jacob Gaul; her father, Casimer Kubiak; and two sisters, Susan and Donna Kubiak, both of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie; and a son-in-law, Eric Gaul. Mary graduated from Washington High School in 1966. Mary worked as a Librarian for St. Anthony de Padua Catholic School for 12 years, before retiring in 2000. She loved being a grandma and babysat for many years for her grandson. She loved to sew, scrapbook, and shop. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2114 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, where friends may visit for one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to her grandson Jacob's Education Fund at TCU.
