Douglas Eugene Kline

Douglas Eugene Kline unexpectedly went Home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2022 at the age of 78. Doug was born December 1, 1943 in South Bend, Indiana where he was raised by his parents, Noble Ellis and Blanche Elizabeth 'Betsy' (Eckert) Kline.

Doug graduated from Washington High School and attended Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana from 1961-1966. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He married Cecile A. (Coates) Kline from Indianapolis, Indiana. He came back to South Bend, Indiana and started a family as well as his career. In 1976, he became the owner of Power Discount Drug Store and eventually started A&D Discount Drugs.

Doug later sold his business to Osco Pharmacy in 1989 and worked as the pharmacy manager at the Osco Drug store downtown South Bend and later worked at CVS Pharmacy where he retired in 2013. In his later years, he reconnected with an old friend Lorraine Gentry at Calvary Tabernacle which brought him much joy, love and happiness. He moved to Indianapolis in 2017 and then married Lorraine in May of 2018.

Doug is survived by his wife, Lorraine Kline; his four children, Tricia (Rob) Yanok, Michele Snyder (fiance, Michael Kuhn), Greg (Leslie) Kline and Josh (Allison) Kline; 9 grandchildren, Cierra (Josh) Rider, Christian (Natalie) Yanok, Grayson Yanok, Evan Yanok, Emily Yanok, Alex Kline, Levi Kline, Quinn Kline and Lilly Kline; his two great grandchildren Knyte Rider and baby Rider and his siblings, Linda Sowders, Arlene Ferguson and Phil (Michele) Kline.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Noble Ellis Kline and Blanche Elizabeth Kline (Eckert).

Doug was very active in the South Bend community and was a faithful member of the Apostolic Faith and most recently was a member of Calvary Tabernacle in Indianapolis.

Doug wrote and left these words, "...when I leave this world, I want people to know that I was faithful to God, a good father, and an example to others."

Visitation in South Bend will be Friday, November 18, 2022, 4-7 pm at Ironwood Pentecostal Church, 4609 S Ironwood Road, South Bend, Indiana 46614.

An additional time of visitation will be Monday, November 21, 2022 from 3-6 pm at Calvary Tabernacle Church, 902 Fletcher Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. The Funeral Service will immediately follow at 6:00 pm Monday at the church. Entombment will be Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis Tuesday.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the Tupelo Children's Mansion, 1801 E. Main St., Tupelo, Mississippi 38804.

Services are being handled by Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana and Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood, Indiana.
