Mr. Anthony Vernard Coleman Sr. was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 4, 2025; he was 46 years old. He was born on June 13, 1978 in Hollandale, Mississippi to Calvin Maybell and Joe Ann Coleman.

Anthony was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ at the age of 10. He was a former member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James E. Minor. He rededicated his life back to Christ under Bishop Stephen Reed and attended Rhema Word international Outreach Ministries.

Anthony was very intelligent and loved learning; at the age of 16 he graduated from South Bend Washington High School in 1997. Anthony loved spending time with his family and close friends. He had a deep passion for music — especially Rap. He loved singing and dancing, fishing and playing basketball. He was employed at Burger King where he worked until he became disabled.

Beloved father, and grandfather, Mr. Coleman leaves to cherish his memory, his mother and stepfather, Joe Ann (and Johnnie) Carter; great memories will also be held by his three daughters: Teijah Stanley, Journey Coleman and Neveah Coleman; and three sons: Justice Gustafson, Anthony Freddie Coleman, Ja’Shawn Coleman and a great granddaughter. He also leaves brothers, Robert Hollins Sr., Prophet Milan D. Carter, Johnny Carter Jr. and Manuel Carter; his favorite Auntie, Minister H.D. and Jenny Johnson; uncles Christopher Johnson and Thomas Johnson; along with a host of cousins, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Calvin Maybell, brothers, Lamont Coleman, Fredrick Coleman and Drew Carter’ a son, Anthony Coleman Jr; grand-parents, Mrs. Charlie Coleman and Mr. Willie Johnson; Marylee Maybell; Mr. Johnnie B. Coleman, Great grandmother, Fannie Walton; great aunties, Mary Botts, Bobbie J. Coleman, May Lee Coleman and Clara Bennett; also his aunties, Velma Ree Royster and Bertha Mae Coleman; and an uncle, Karlitos Johnson.
