In Memory
Dolores J (Van Laere) Harmacinski
March 15, 1941 ~ January 10, 2025
Dolores J. Harmacinski, 83, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, in Memorial Hospital.
Dolores was born on March 15, 1941, to the loving late Marshall & Phyllis (Bieganski) Van Laere. On April 27, 1963, Dolores married the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Harmacinski; he preceded her in death.
Left to cherish the memory of Dolores are her children, Brian Harmacinski, Sandy Harmacinski, Gary Harmacinski, Vicki (James) Wickizer, and Jody (Ross) Kuzmicz. A pride and joy of her life were her cherished grandchildren Chase, Reid, Lexi, Quinn, Kaylee (Spencer), Jack, Rylee, Ryan, and Kyle who she loved and prayed for until her final moments. Dolores delighted in her great-granddaughter Estelle Miller.
Dolores was a dedicated older sister to Thomas (Ann) Van Laere and will be reunited in heaven with brother Joseph and sister-in-law Joan Van Laere.
Her sister-in-law, Carol Smith and dear friends Carol Critchlow, Diane Jenner, Charlotte Matthews and many others hold her close to their hearts.
Dolores attended St. Adalbert Grade School, and was a graduate of Washington High School . She was employed at AT&T for over 35 years. Dolores was a committed parishioner of Holy Family Parish, where she was a member of Rosary Sodality, ZB Falcons, and St. Casimir & St. John’s Seniors.
Dolores had a fun-loving spirt and enjoyed many things in life. She partook in a vibrant social life meeting frequently with WHS Class of 1959 get-togethers and AT&T lunches. If you asked anyone, they could tell you about her affinity for the King of Rock Elvis Presly. She loved to live on the “wild side” of life taking casino bus trips and always sharing her winnings, if she was lucky enough to have any. When she wasn’t spending time with family you could make a bet that she was relaxing with a new biography or an episode of Law & Order. One of her most prized memories was her bucket list vacation to Paris with her daughter Jody.
Dolores was a beacon of light to those who met her. Even beyond her family her motherly personality led her to be loved by many, seeing the friends of her children as her own. Her family saw her as pillar of comfort, that was cultivated by her sacrificial and giving attitude. With an inspiring faith and her love of God, she would do whatever it took to help her friends and family.
Visitation for Dolores will begin 2:00 pm till 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, with a rosary to be prayed at 4:00 pm at St. Joseph Funeral Home, Mayflower Rd. A Catholic rite of Burial mass will be celebrated on January 15, 2025, at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Eternal rest grant unto her Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
