Nicolette M. (Nicky) Spychalski Crane

MILL CREEK, IN - Nicolette “Nicky” M. Crane, 77, of Mill Creek, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Hamilton Communities, Inc. in New Carlisle, Indiana.

She was born March 25, 1941 in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Edward Spychalski and Genevieve L. (Lyczynski) Spychalski.

Nicky retired from Hamilton Grove Communities after twenty-four years in food service. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in New Carlisle, IN. She enjoyed cooking, especially Polish food. Nicky also enjoyed polka dancing with her husband, going to Amish Acres, and the Civic Theater in South Bend, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

On April 22, 1967, in South Bend, Indiana, she married Donald E. Crane, who survives in Mill Creek, Indiana.

She is also survived by her daughter, De`Siree A. (Mark) Yohn of South Bend, IN; two sons, Darwin E. (Kris) Crane of Rolling Prairie, IN and Drew L. (Bridget Crokus) Crane of Anchorage, AK; stepson, Devon F. Crane; two grandsons, Codi Yohn of South Bend, IN and Nathan Crane of Rolling Prairie, IN; two granddaughters, Madison Crane of Rolling Prairie, IN and Kaila Yohn of South Bend, IN; two brothers, John Spychalski and Bruce Spychalski; & two sisters, Julie Kurdys & Becky Romary. Nicky was preceded in death by both her parents.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, April 30, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. & Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana.
