Ronald Lee Ingle, 78 years old, passed away on Monday morning, July 1, 2019 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Ron was born on February 15, 1941 in Nappanee, IN to the late Willard N. and Mildred (Howell) Ingle. He has been a lifelong resident. On November 18, 1961 in South Bend, Ronald and Noreen E. Ingle were united in marriage.
Along with his loving wife, Noreen, of 57 years, Ron is survived by their children, Michael (Susan) Ingle, Pamela (Terry Randall) Ratliff, and Susan (Michael) Beebe; five grandchildren, Gary (Gretchen) Ingle, Joshua Ratliff, Carter Beebe, Rachel Beebe, and Marshall Beebe; two great grandchildren, Gideon and Gemma Ingle; and his two sisters, Martha DeCook and Betty James. Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his two brothers, William Ingle, Jr. and Kenneth Ingle.
Ron worked a total of 40 years in public service as a police officer and security. He served with the South Bend Police Department 21 of those years. He was a member of South Side Baptist Church. He organized and participated in the bluegrass jamboree for 7 years at Hillside Missionary Church. Ron proudly served his country with the United States Air Force.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the South Side Baptist Church, 1130 Jackson Road, South Bend with military honors. Pastor Scott Smith will officiate. Palmer Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
