Eugene M. Jachimiak

SOUTH BEND - Eugene M. Jachimiak, 78 of South Bend passed away on Tuesday, April 25th at the Center for Hospice, South Bend with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born on August 4, 1938 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Bernice (Wojtasik) Jachimiak.

On May 28, 1960 in South Bend he married Marie E. Bella who survives. Eugene is also survived by two daughters, Lori (Mark Entzian) Jachimiak of Florida and Jill (Roberto) Gutierrez of South Bend; a son, Jay M. Jachimiak of South Bend; six grandchildren, Aaron Shreve, Melissa (Matt) Jones, Brent Krieg, Robert Entzian, Meghan Entzian and Anthony Gutierrez; five great-grandchildren, Adrian, Kai, Madaleine and Keoni Jones and Keegan Krieg; a brother, Ray Jachimiak of South Bend; two sister-in-laws, Pat and Maxine Jachimiak and a brother-in-law, Mike Bella.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Jachimiak and three brothers, Ted, Walt and Ed Jachimiak.

Eugene worked for numerous companies in South Bend and Elkhart as a Warehouse Manager. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed reading, watching Fox News and spending time with his family and grandchildren all whom he had a special name for.

Eugene's wishes were to be cremated with no service or visitation and his loving family has honored his wishes. The family request memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. The HANLEY and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Jachimiak family.
