Beverly G. Pilarski
June 17, 1939 ~ January 17, 2026
Beverly G. Pilarski, 86, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in her home. Beverly was born on June 17, 1939 in South Bend, Indiana to Joseph G. and Irene M. (Burzynski) Ganus.
She moved away from South Bend in 1964 and returned in 2005. Beverly retired in 2003 from the East Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Louisiana, where she was employed as a Registered Nurse for 20 years.
On November 23, 1963 she married Robert H. Pilarski, who preceded her in death on August 12, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Irene Ganus; her daughter, Rita Dimm; her infant brother, Gregory Ganus; and one sister, Charlotte Meller. Beverly is survived by her son Michael (Kozue Takai) Pilarski of Thailand; her grandson, Dwayne (Amanda) Dimm of Louisiana; and her nephew and nieces, Gregory (Lori) Meller of Mississippi, Jessica Smith of Goshen, Indiana, Charmaine Lange of Lebanon, Indiana and Monique DeMaegd of Mishawaka, Indiana.
Beverly was a 1957 graduate of Washington High School and a 1960 graduate of Indiana University. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, Senior Citizens of St. Casmir Church, and the St. Joseph Young Men’s Auxiliary. She was a passionate lover of Opera along with reading, gardening and cooking. Beverly’s family wishes to thank Cindy Weaver her caregiver, along with the special care and attention she received from her neighbor Dori Foryf and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to the Center of Hospice Care. A Catholic Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2026 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Beverly will be interred next to her husband in Riverview Cemetery.
