One killed, one injured in two-vehicle crash
A South Bend woman was killed and her 38-year-old daughter was injured in a traffic accident Friday.
Wyoma L. Pagels, 58, of the 5200 block of Floral Place, died when the car in which she was a passenger was in a crash about 1:45 p.m. Friday.
Pagel's daughter, Rhonda R. Hensell, 38, of the Floral Place address, was driving south on Indiana 23.
According to Starke County police, Hensell pulled out in front of a van driven by Michael R. Gaines, 46, of the 200 block of East North Street in Bremen.
Gaines was driving east on Indiana 8.
The vehicles collided and both came to rest in the yard of a home at the intersection.
Hensell was transported to Starke Memorial Hospital in Knox for treatment of head injuries.
Her mother died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Police listed no injuries to Gaines.
