Kathleen "Kathy or Kandy" Badowski, 80, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN.
Kathy was born on October 12, 1945 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Joseph and Jane (Czerniak) Badowski. Kathy is also preceded in death by her brother, James Badowski.
Left to cherish their memories of Kathy are her son, Damon Madison of Los Angeles, CA; siblings, Robert (Lorraine) Badowski of Lakeville, Mary Ellen (Steven) Schmidt of Plymouth, and Marcia Badowski of Albuquerque, NM; best friend, Sharon Boyd of South Bend; nieces and nephews, Ryan Schmidt, James (Rachel) Badowski, Rebecca Badowski-Platz, Rachel Struss, and Joseph Badowski; and great-nieces and nephews, Billy & Wade Schmidt, Isla Struss, and Lily Badowski.
Kathy graduated from Washington High School, class of 1962. She worked for 30 years as a telephone operator for Indiana Bell/Ameritech/AT&T. Kathy enjoyed gardening, cooking, staying informed on current events, and shopping, especially at estate sales. She loved buying and selling antiques and old costume jewelry. Kathy would sell her unique finds through her online eBay store and at booths in antique malls.
Kathy was a loving mother, sister, and friend. She will be forever loved and cherished.
Per Kathy's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
