FLETCHER, NC - Ronald Stanley Rutkowski, 65, of Fletcher, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at his home following an extended illness.

A native of South Bend, IN, Ronald lived in Cape Coral, FL, most of his life before moving to Henderson County three years ago. He was the son of the late Stanley Bernard Rutkow-ski and Mary Ruppel Niezgodski of South Bend, IN. He was a graduate of Washington High School. Ronald was a project manager with Mock Engineering where he worked as a fiber optic engineer. He was a Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam era. Ronald was also a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was an accomplished bass player.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of twenty-nine years, Marian Rutkowski; a daughter, Tabatha Harris, and her husband, Jonathan of Fort Meyers, FL; five grandchildren, Michael Harris, Elizabeth Bronsfield, Isaiah Harris, Raven Newsome, and Ethan Harris; a sister, Barbara Dinger of Berrien Springs, MI; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be at 2:30 pm Wednesday, October 7, 2015, in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Jones will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 pm prior to the service in the chapel.
